The hull of the AHD Expression contains meticulous work of multiple values: The V towards the stern ensures manoeuvrability, a good pivot for carving and control at high speed or in strong winds. A concave tightens the scoop line under the foot area to accelerate the shape. It evolves into a double concave V on the front third to free up the rail and increase manoeuvrability while maintaining acceleration and speed on the flat or in curves.

We match these features with our outstanding Double Carbon/Kevlar Sandwich construction, all honed together over more than 30 years of development, because the key to success in waves is speed with control, giving the rider instant response and communication to feel your every action to perfection!

THE RIGHT BALANCE ENSURES AN OPTIMAL SPEED/ MANOEUVERABLE RATIO

The correct distribution of the scoop determines the behaviour of the Board. Too flat and the board takes off early but does not turn or accept the drop down the face. Too curved and the board only expresses itself in the hollow of the wave with great difficulty in planning or going fast. The right understanding makes the Expression a pure fast, radical and timeless wave board in a vast range of conditions from typical English Channel waves or B&J conditions, all the way to Hookipa or Diamond Head!

A QUICK START

We elected to keep a little extra length to provide support on the front. It favours the planning start and inertia in slightly soft conditions so often seen around our coast. It is possible to lean a little more on its rig to lighten up and release the liveliness of the Hull more quickly in European waves, while also enhancing Single Fin riding to also work really well in B&J conditions where superior glide is also so important.

A REINFORCED AND LIGHT CONSTRUCTION

From 6.3 kg, like all our boards, with the Expression, we follow a unique manufacturing process during which all the layers of fabrics, sandwich material (in this case hard PVC Foam) + other reinforcements, and mast/fin boxes & footstrap inserts are applied to the CNC shaped EPS Core.

The 'Mummy' as it is known, is then placed in a double-shell mould and pressure cured according to a carefully controlled process which is specific to each model.

This ensures the ideal polymerisation of the resins for a perfect shape reproduction and the optimal strength/weight ratio every time.

The resin used for the construction of our boards is a bio-sourced epoxy SR GreenPoxy (more than 33% of the molecules come from vegetable sources) and the woods used are from sustainably managed woodland as close to the factory as possible.

The AHD Expression board is sold with 3 AHD Footstraps Strap Screws/Anti-Twist plates and AHD Expression 105 is sold with 4 AHD Footstraps Strap Screws/Anti-Twist plates.
