AFS WILF

The new AFS WILF is the latest generation of wingfoil wings design. Efficient and accessible, it's suitable for all rider types (from beginners to experts).

01
COMPACT DESIGN
Its compact and stable profile allows you to jibe without worrying about your wing and above all to surf without thinking about it. Indeed, the variable diameter of the leading edge brings manoeuvrability and a smaller footprint. A thicker leading edge in the centre avoids any deformation of your WILF in high range or jumps. A thinner diameter at the ends allows the WING to "breathe" to optimize fluid flow.

02
ULTRA RIGID CANOPY
The spinnaker tension has been maximized to obtain a wide range of use. This taut profile allows the generation of a constant force in order to go into lightwind. The hollow of the WING is marked by an additional panel between the batten and the spinnaker. This will give you a direct feeling and efficient pumping.

03
EASY TO USE
We have chosen to have only two wide handles (2.8m2, 3.4m2, 4m2, 5m2 - and three on the 6m2) allowing for optimal hand placement and a light wing. You can then position your hands as you wish to find the position that suits you. A deflation valve is located on the central slat allowing you to deflate and store your wing more easily.

04
REINFORCED CONSTRUCTION
The wing canopy is made from Teijin T9669, the reference in the world of kitesurfing, allowing us to bring increased performance and durability. Various reinforcements have been added to the leading edge providing abrasion resistance. After various tests, the positioning of these reinforcements has been done in a practical and thoughtful way in order to have one of the lightest WINGS on the market, while protecting the key areas.

05
CHOOSE THE SIZE THAT SUITS YOU
The WILF is available in 5 sizes: 2.8, 3.4, 4, 5 and 6m2.

07
PACK
The wing is sold with a quality Transport Bag which unzips fully round one side for easy stowage, and comes with Wrist Leash, Harness Line and Quick Repair Kit.

The Inflation Valve fits the standard 20mm 'Mother' Bayonet connection which is common on many good quality pumps, so there are a large range of pumps which will fit, as well as our own AFS Ryde pump, which is an optional extra.

Recomended Inflation Pressure is 8PSI - (some wings may have 6 PSI maximum printed on them - this was a mistake and should read 8 PSI, which is perfectly safe, but should not be exceeded)
t pay attention the temperature/radiant energy changes upwards, which (as will all inflated products) could risk the pressure rising to a dangerous level, so if this happens, especially while your wing is on shore, re check you pressure to ensure you do not exceed 8psi.

Conversely a drop in temperature/radiant energy or frequent immersion in water much colder than the air temperature could easily mean the wing pressure could drop significantly, meaning the wing will underperform and feel 'soggy', so in this event, check the pressure and pump it up more if needed.

The key thing is, be aware of these things!

Also, never leave you wing unsecured, or resting on sharp or abrasive surfaces, or just sat there baking in the sun! Never fly a wing with damage to Leading Edge/Strut or Canopy, without carrying out even a good temporary repair - small holes are easy to fix, but they can quickly become big ones if you don't!

Happy Flying from the Kai Sports & Foil and Co team.

Pump is extra, but the majority of Pumps on the market which have the standard Bravo/Scoprega 20mm mother fitting or Boston 17 to 18mm taper fitting will be perfect for inflation, so the majority of people who already have a Kite or inflatable SUP with a pump from mainstream companies and a lot of the Bravo/Scoprega pumps will work perfectly.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Please note that all WILF's have printed by the inflation valve 'Maximum Inflation Pressure 6psi' - This is set low, to remain safe in the event of a big upwards swing in temperature or radiant sun energy from the point you inflate it.

They work fine at 6psi but really come alive at 7 to 8psi, which is perfectly safe and what we (Kai Sports, Foil & Co and all the AFS Team Riders) recommend you inflate your WILF to, providing you are aware that you should not inflate to this higher pressure and not pay attention the temperature/radiant energy changes upwards, which (as will all inflated products) could risk the pressure rising to a dangerous level, so if this happens, especially while your wing is on shore, re check you pressure to ensure you do not exceed 8psi.
