Product Description
AFS STABILISER SHIM - CARBON
These stabiliser shims allow you accurately tune your AFS foil to extend the range of comfortable use of your front wing and stab, or to adjust the basic set up to give say, less front or back foot pressure, or indeed more.
The standard set up of AFS foils without shims will work brilliantly for most people, while others will want to fine tune to their riding style, location, weight, location and water density, and do remember that moving you mast Fore and Aft are the first things to do - Like all adjustments, be progressive and methodical.
Our stab shims are approx. 0.3mm thick and are designed to fit either the front or the rear of the stab with the screw passing through the hole.
It's a universal part, covering our Wingfoil and Windfoil ranges, so please ensure it sits flat on the fuselage and against the face of the Stab before screwing it down, as in some cases, you might need to trim a little of around the edges very carefully with sharp scissors or a modelling or Stanley knife to ensure perfect fit.
They are very thin, but have a significant effect, so only try 1 to start with, adding a second or third progressively.
Add shim(s) between the fuselage and stab to the rear screw position to give nose down (reduce front wing lift)
Add shim(s) between the fuselage and stab to the front screw position to give nose up (increase front wing lift)
We recommend only use two, three at the most, as beyond this, you really need to look at your whole set up to consider alternative AFS front wing or Stab to provide the range of performance/feel you are looking for.
