Year after year the A-H-D Zen has substantially surpassed the requirements and expectations of many sailing-schools and families/beginners all over the world, as well as having stood up to the challenge of durability thrown down by its plastic forerunners in a sector notoriously demanding on build quality as well as friendly and communicative handling.

The Zen range has the added advantage off offering a well planned progression from the very stable, yet planing hull shape 220, which is also brilliant fun for getting people dialed into Freestyle fun.

Then step down to the 190, which is a lovely alround cruiser as well as a great school board, which will fly along with with a 7m rig in 20 knots, just as happily as getting a complete novice up to around 75kg, windsurfing for the first time.

The Zen 170 and the very latest additon to the range, the Zen 150,
are true free-ride boards, but with the full Rail to Rail EVA deck and Daggerboards of the bigger Zen's with an even greater zest of performance and smooth gybes.

These smaller Zens are ideal for teaching lighter begginers from scratch, as well as for acheiving higher wind performance sailing for heavier riders - The 150 with its relatively low stern volume is great for getting waterstards mastered!

Please note that as pioneers in Windfoiling (from 2008), we have also set up the Zen 170 and 150 with Deep Tuttle finboxes, so you can learn to Windfoil on these as well!

ON THE WATER:
These school and family boards are aimed at getting you surfing on your own within a few hours, without forgetting that you must enjoy sailing in light winds to quickly develop the skills needed to enjoy sailing in the straps with bigger sails.

The Zen Family of boards are designed to help you have fun at every stage, as it is pointless sailing something which is constantly wrong-footing you, when what you need is a friendly companion, that very quickly offers great gliding sensations due to their good speed in moderate winds.

The 170 Zen is at heart, a Fast Forward 160 and the Zen 150, is a Fast Forward 145 from our Freeride range, so both make an ideal choice for experienced parents (or lighter beginners) with young children, as they work beautifully for the kids with small junior rigs from 1.5m, while offering the adults superb planing performance in force 3 to 5 winds, with rigs from around 8m down to 5m.

Remember, the Zen 170 and 150 feature a Deep Tuttle Box so you can Windfoil these great board as well!

All Zen boards are great for cruising with a WindWing, or practicing these skills before transfering to a Wingfoil board with a Foil.

SHAPE:
Our Zen range groups together 3 different shapes, which follow an evolution from beginners-tuition to a true fast free-ride sailing.

Their volume distribution has been carefully developed, and the scoop lines we use, will guarantee smooth accelerations to maintain stability and comfort for the beginner.

Our 4 Zen's have a full EVA deck, both comfortable and reassuring for kids and older beginners, their centre-boards are all fully retractable.


SHAPE SPECIFICS:
" Scoop line: progressive, ideally designed for getting smoothly into a plane without that disrupting on/off effect, and for optimal gliding at slow speeds.
" Outline: Longish and harmonious for more stability, more lift and more forgiveness.
" Double concave bottom (on Zen 170 & 150 ) The higher the speed, the lower the wetted area will be, so your Zen board will be gliding both quickly and effortlessly.

The 190 and 220 have a stepped bottom for best directional stability from a short hull length, as well as faster planing and superior glide by lifting onto the step.

" Deck: full EVA, soft and comfortable.
" Dagger-board: fully retractable
